HOUSTON ASSEMBLY OF DELPHIAN CHAPTERS

Not what we have but what we share, for ceasing to share we cease to have

90 Glorious Years of Giving

Mary Treadway, Second Delphian Scholar

The Houston Assembly of Delphian Chapters has been giving scholarships to outstanding students at the University of Houston continuously since 1930.  Our first scholar, Christine Fitzgerald, who later became a leading Houston educator, actually attended Houston Junior College in the basement of San Jacinto High School.  The University of Houston dates its beginnings to 1927, and the Delphian Scholarship of 1930 is credited as being the first ever awarded at the school.
